We arrived at our campground on January 8 after traveling over 1400 miles in 2 1/2 days. This is our home for the next 3 months: Farr Park – a Baton Rouge City Horse Park and campsite.

The campground is sparsely populated and little more than a field with water and electricity hookups. We met some folks traveling through headed home to South Carolina who are interested in volunteering. We may see them again!

We met with the Rapid Response Team (RRT) which is made up of folks from the 2 ELCA churches in Baton Rouge. This is just one of the many groups we have met this first week.

We have helped serve lunch at the Holy Grill each day this first week. It is a ministry of the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge. Pastor Robin, an ELCA pastor, is the director. IFGBR is another organization we are working closely with.
